Well that's all fine and dandy them being a thing, but we really need to figure out what's going on. Then again I can't be saying anything. I glance over at Simon and blush unintentionally.

|Simon|
|Hospital|

"So you're more or less going to be alright emotionally seeing as you've got someone by your side, and phisically considering that person's a scientist. I've got some help to do, so I've gotta go. All in all, if you guys don't mind, take a stop at my apartment any day."

Leaving a note at the desk in the room, I leave without bothering them. I had to see wheter others were alright, these two seemed to have their shit together. I was worried about Glade, though. I really hadn't seen anyone suffer that hard of a breakdown in a while. For some reason, she reminded me of Taiga Aisaka from Toradora, but I'm pretty sure that the people involved in the accident hadn't seen that, so I refrained from comenting.
He can't just leave like that; we're in this together, whether we like it or not.

I run after Simon and scream "Wait!"

I stopped dead on my tracks. I hadn't realized I was leaving without her - I was just so used to leaving alone just about anything. That might've been my own fault, really, but now someone had remembered me. I was a bit flustered, indeed.

"Uh, sorry for leaving you behind. I didn't mean to, really. Most people just seem to forget about me. I'm glad you didn't."

And now I'm pretty sure I was blushing.

"I look like a tomato, isn't it?"

That was sweet, I hope this goes well. I push Simon playfully "Yes yes you do" what do I say now? Oh I know, perfect "How about we start over and just go back to the coffee shop?" I say this with a small blush in my cheeks. God I hope he says yes, even if he's a little bit of a nerd; even so I can't say anything about nerdiness

"You ain't leaving me this time, right? After all, I offered that to calm you down and you just broke down emotionally. Ultimately, it's hard for me to see everyone who's not alright, and you really didn't seem to be. C'mon, let's go."

Somehow, you discovered you had powers and scored a cute girl on the same day.

Simon, you're getting lucky.

"No I won't leave you this time, oh and I would punch you for that, but I don't know if that's a good idea" instead I shove Simon "Also, if we're both alright in the head then I'd be suprised. I mean if we are then how would we explain all this. And how would I explain you being so great?" I can feel the smile on my face and the slight blush in my cheeks. Today has been a crazy day hasn't it? As I walk I notice the sun setting and look over to Simon and tell him "Look at the sky over there!" I point to the beautiful sunset, and for the first time in a while I feel truly happy

[Old Docklands]

Daniel was quite surprised, bodies attacking others and this strange policewoman that can create a shield out of thin air. "Now you just have to go into more detail for me once I do get free of this. While I'm sure I look quite comfortable I really like the entire walking notion," Daniel said while still trying to see if he could figure out whether or not he could trust this woman.
[Old Docklands]
"Well, I think there's two possibilities here.

Number 1: There is a very powerful magnet or electromagnet sitting in a fish shop, which seems a kind of odd place to find one.
Number 2: Someone knows that there are people with powers and is trying to eliminate us via the use of their own. The zombie I fought seemed to have some weird sort of armour on it, and this kind of magnetic force is very unusual.

The thing that truly worries me is that there's the possibility that the corpse was involved with a large, well-organised gang that claims turf in this area of London. If so, we could have a criminal gang with superpowers, and that terrifies the shit out of me. Regardless, I fear we may be in for some company. I'll start clearing some of this rubble to see if I find the source of this magnetism, but I'll need you to keep a lookout for anything unusual."

I looked around, scanning the shadows one last time before crouching down and trying to clear the debris, using the shield as a scoop. I didn't want to let it dissipate just yet."

"I-uh... I..."

I was stuttering again. That's... not good. Not at all. I could feel my face transitioning through all shades of red availaible. And all because this girl who's resting her head on my arm right now told me I was great. Now, what, exactly, was great about me? The sunset was pretty, for sure. But not as pretty as her.

Good heavens, that sounded cheesy as heck.

"D-do you really think I-I'm great? Not that I dislike it, I just wanted to find out what exactly..."

Congratulations, Simon, you get lucky once in your life and you might just screw it up within a heartbeat.

Both Lorna and Daniel hear a creak just below Daniel, as if the floor is willingly trying to break and fall into the river below with you two in it.

"The reason you're great is you were willing to help me when I needed it most even though you normally aren't the most courageous as evidenced by your stutter" I say as my blush reddens. And that is why I trust myself around you because you helped me and my sister never did

The giant rabbit... well, whatever it was, shrugged off the arrow just like Brock had expected. Then it started ramming the tree. Damn. Brock hadn't thought of that. He had a little while to think at that moment, and he took it. Knowing he wasn't hallucinating or going mad, he could feel the rabbit hitting the tree, he came to the conclusion he must be dreaming.

I'll just close my eyes... and when I open them, I'll be awake. What the hell. He was still in the same place. Hearing a voice in the distance, no, not a voice, the same voice as before. Further confirming he was sane. Shit. He had preferred insanity to this. Taking the one lead he had, he shot an arrow to distract the rabbit, and leaped off the tree in the direction he thought he had heard the voice from, preparing to roll.

There is no one - the voice appears to have moved to near a road. The massive rabbit, together with its swarm, follows you, breaking whatever is in its path.

That one little sound chills me to the bones. I can fight off assailants, heck, maybe even ones with superpowers. I can walk the streets at night and know their secrets. I can reason with unreasonable people. But the laws of physics do not make an exception for the law of man. I redouble my efforts, digging frantically through the rubble, while trying to think of any quicker way to get out.

"I don't suppose you happen to be able to turn yourself back to normal do you? Might be a bit faster to make you non-magnetic if at all possible!"

I don't fancy a swim in the Thames - I've seen more than enough bodies in it to know better.

Daniel remembers a time when he fell in the Thames, and then frantically tries with all his might to will the metal back in his body, it slowly starts to recede, his mind racing more as the groaning seems to increase.

"C'mon, that's just what I learned growing up. When people just don't care about you, you notice that caring about them is the only way you can bring a bit of attention to yourself. I mean, I'm a weakling with severe anxiety and a voice that doesn't sound in the least assuring. No one'd take me seriously. So instead, I turned to being Mr. Nice Guy. And it just became my personality."

Daniel remembers a time when he fell in the Thames, and then frantically tries with all his might to will the metal back in his body, it slowly starts to recede, his mind racing more as the groaning seems to increase.
I see the shiny metallic tint on the surface of his arms gradually retreat, but the pace seems glacially slow. I start to wonder if we'll have enough time before the floor gives way. I give up on shovelling, dropping my shield and letting it disintegrate. Instead, I take hold of his legs and begin to pull. Although I don't have any great hope at the minute, the slow recession of the metal should lead to both a lightening of his body and a reduction in the magnetic force, meaning I may soon be able to make some headway and start moving him away from the weakened floor onto a slightly stronger section.

I have to admire the handiwork. If this is an attack, then it's a very subtle, tidy one.

The ground cracks once more. You can still see a dirt bank, but the Thames is also peeking from the ever-increasing crack. The magnetic force is absurdly big, harder than most industrial-scale eletromagnets, but it seems to be coming from nowhere specifically.

Hearing the crack and seeing the Thames, Daniel struggles even harder to get the metal back into his body. He also starts giggling and thinks to himself, "I become a walking lamppost, get trapped by the will of the dips*** in the sky apparently and now am being rescued by a policewoman who seems to be able to create shields out of the air, why specifically shields I have no idea but this day is getting better and better."

"Well then Mr. Nice Guy let's get to the cofee shop, And by the way, no one with that spirit is a weakling, they are the bravest people in the world and that's something that I admire." I start to walk over to the coffee shop. I still smile. I smile as I remember that day so many years ago because it may be what caused me and Simon to meet

The fucking loon is giggling like a maniac. I swear, if I weren't so professional I'd be kicking the shit out of him when this is done. I've half a mind to leave him and get myself out of there, but I know deep down that's not really an option. I pull all the harder, praying that we can get out of this mess in time.

Suddenly I have a flash of inspiration. If I can make a sword, why not fill in a gap? I slap one hand to the floor near the crack and reach for that strange vitality that I feel when calling upon my powers. I picture a sheet of glowing orange covering the crack, with beams reaching down into the sandbank to provide support. I close my eyes and feel the flow, before opening them to see what has happened.

The gap is steadily opening, yet your powers don't seem to work on it. You can see the bars of a nearby sewer entrance bended, before they are ripped from the door.

I smile. People just didn't give a shit about me because there really was nothing interesting I did - trying to help people was the only thing I was good at.

And for the first time someone complimented me on that. And it was a cute girl!

Simon, this sounds like something out of a badly written internet roleplay.

I increased my step's rate, approaching Glade. I didn't want her to run off again. And she did have some weird mood swings. C'mon, I decided to help her. I wasn't going to back down on something I started, no matter he shit we went through. Who was I thinking to again? Oh, yeah, me.

"So, uhm, I take it you do give a shit about bass players, or maybe I'm completely wrong."

There was nothing there. He must of been going mad. His madness, taunting him, the voice, always audible, never visible. What had driven him mad? Being isolated from society for so long?

He knew. He knew that whatever happened today would be a turning point in his life, even if it was death. Hearing the crashing of the rabbit and its swarm catching up to him, he knew he could never outrun it. He turned and faced the rabbit. Now he knew he was mad. He stood his ground and drew his knife, preparing to jump.
