A place
Also, further arguements:
Me. In my role sheet.
Okay, but still, that doesn't guarantee anything, it only ups the leniency of the GM in the first place.
I'm not very good at inventing characters
This is the most tired excuse I've seen in most of my RP career. People just blaming it on the fact that they can't create characters. Well, then MAYBE you should've spent more than half an hour on it. The only people who can do stuff like that and make really good characters/get away with it are professionals.
He uses a bow.
I was using an example.
Nope. Just rabbits.
Then why the HELL is he this close to the city if he doesn't want to go there, and there's probably much better prey out in the wild!?
Sorry, how is this relevant?
Oh, you know, just the fact that you're not the only one that has to hunt for food, therefore it's pretty much a competition.
Wait a second. I'm in a freaking psych ward!?
Well, no. I was more using that as an example, and considering that they keep you in the ER for about an hour while they're getting all the paperwork done, and that's where they take people who go to the psych ward, they probably have the same, if not more security there. I legitimately heard people laughing like they were insane/screaming. Scary shit.
*subtle cough* RJS did it *subtle cough*
He left to take a shower. I don't know about you, but when I went to the psych ward, we got our own rooms and bathrooms. I don't think they'd stop him from doing that.
I'm going to just apologise here.
I just realised... I'm kinda being an asshole. You're clearly way more experienced than me and I'm talking back to everything you say, just because I don't like people telling me what to do. I keep letting my pride get the better of me. Please don't ask me to apologise more, if you knew me in real life you would know how hard this is for me.

Now I'm gonna go back to my normal self, but I'm going to take all the advice I get from you guys. Well the ones that are experienced anyway. So maybe not tord.

Also, I'd like to say, Nisteth is completely right. HOWEVER!
Could you please do it in a less toxic manner? This RP was actually made to help people here learn to RP, so I kinda want new people here. This isn't some exclusive club for career RPers only. Good god no.

Anyway, I think what G says perfectly describes what I intend. Introducing new Rpers to concepts, good habits, getting rid of bad ones, learning how to write better and think about what they're doing. I think, because of all the shit that's happened here, we'll only have one arc, and then afterwards I and G (And maybe Nisteth, the offer for you's still open. You've shown time and time again to be a well-versed RPer who knows his stuff, and knows when people go wrong, though i would appreciate a lack of toxicity) will start a new one. Obviously though, we've a way to go.
The next RP will be a slightly different style to this, and it will be a little more advanced. Rewards are given for some good RPing, and character sheets will require more of you. Also, any posts that do not meet the required criteria will be MUCH more harshly stamped down on - I was far too lenient here, allowing tiny posts etc.
Of course, I will accept newbies still on that, however I will warn them of all of this stuff that's gone down here with new RPers, and that the learning curve will be a lot steeper.
This'll actually also be a good exercise for us GMs - the genre I'm thinking will need a fair bit of GM work, so it'll be a nice challenge.

I have ab-so-lu-te-ly not idea if I'm experienced or not.
I've no idea about experienced, but you're certainly quite skilled! You write well, you write long, and you've been developing your character. Those are three of the best things any RPer can do.

Now, back on topic: I'm thinking that this RP will last around a week more at most, as I reveal what I've been planning all along. Then, we'll have a break as we GMs work out the details of the next RP.

Any points to add, or objections?

Experience is useful, skill's better. You appear to have the latter.
Eeeh, I need some more experience tbh. I could have done a much better job on my character sheet to be honest, and I think I may have overdone my character concept, as well as having ambitious plans for a backstory based arc for Lorna to be running along the main storyline (There was a reason I got transferred to Missing Persons). I was fine throughout the action stuff, but I've felt a bit off the rails since leaving the hospital, and to a lesser extent since falling in the river. Some of the stuff I've written has felt clumsy, I've popped back to make a stealth edit to one of my posts to ensure continuity...

Around 70% of what you said applies to me as well. :s

It's probably best not to try and lone wolf stuff. It can hinder your character development and interrupt their story participation.

I wouldn't exactly class it as 'lone wolf'. I've made an effort to try and tie other people in (like running to the noise when Heil was attacked, wandering into Rusty Keys), but it gave me something to work towards when things were quiet on the 'being attacked' front. It was more my 'relationship' than anything else-just like Christopher and Esaias went to the restaurant, I went off doing this other thing.

My character was in somewhat of an unusual position compared to the others. Most characters were either self-employed, unemployed or were working small jobs. I felt that I couldn't ignore the fact that I was in a different situation, even before taking into account that Lorna sees the police as her family. To walk away from them would be like when she was kicked out of home, and that incident and the consequences of it are still painful for her. So where possible, I've been trying to tie the backstory stuff sloshing around in my brain in with the police work.

I guess maybe I got the wrong idea - I kind of came into this thinking that we'd be wandering around semi-independently, trying to live with our new abilities and the threat of attack, but still bumping into each other periodically, as opposed to a more 'party'-oriented scenario, which I guess is what you had in mind.
