I'm not in fornt of MC at the moment but yeah it is something like that. Its not really all that hard other then getting the brains. But a night running around with a sword should net you enough for most projects.

Though im not sure theres brains in it. also just woke up. I happen to have a bunch from when I was playing with ideas for the mothership. Had about a stack of it in a chest.

Ok Small update. I'm laying some ground work for the mega super awesome thermopile.

2013-03-13_03.27.32 by Saice, on Flickr

Not much to look at but its my system for making a bunch of them light engineering blocks just added to the update. It is going to take awhile and I need to get more white XY gems. Got about two stacks of each color of storage blocks.

Also need to go hunt down some snow for the actual blocks.

Then its thermopile loving up in this Shoop house.

Update.

Over in my test world dorking around. This is basically what I plan on doing.

Heres the basic 2x2x1 layout for each pile.

2013-03-14_19.54.49 by Saice, on Flickr

And here is a rough idea of what each power cell is going to look like.

2013-03-14_20.01.00 by Saice, on Flickr

And as you can see its doing fairly well for a thermopile

2013-03-14_20.01.40 by Saice, on Flickr

Theres 28 piles in here so getting the basic .5 amps off each fairly good for its footprint to be honest.

Compare it to the old layout needed to get .5 amps each and you can see it is a really huge reduction in size. (this one has 40 piles)

It's called lava.

LOL

No the white one is form Xycraft its the Xycraft ice block. It keeps the water in Ice. Normally this setup is unstable the ice melts but with the XYcraft ice it cant melt. And as long as we only have 1ice per pile the lava will not turn to basalt. So its a really stable setup with a tiny footprint and no maintenance.

Ok the Lum server crashed a few hours ago. So instead of working on the Hovel of Shame I got to work on the thermopile. There are some issues that I need to work out. I need to rewire the cells in a different way. Even stepping up the power and back down to save resistance I'm still losing a crap ton between the cells and the end point were I was going to do all the work. Instead I think I'll use the power right at the cell convert it to MJ and pipe it into storage cells or convert to lava and pump it to tanks.

Shots of the cell wiring. BTW I love the new XY glass its cheap, looks nice, and you can stick things on it.

All three zones glass frames done.

2013-03-16_02.55.39 by Saice, on Flickr

All the wiring done (which I need to change)

2013-03-16_03.14.12 by Saice, on Flickr

Checking on the autocrafter it ran out of smooth stone so I had to put more cobble in the furnaces to get it going again but there is enough ice blocks to get some of the pile done.

Just a loot at the cells before lava and ice and piles get added.

Check them out... are they not sexy.

Now on to the issues. As you can see I'm pulling decent power before and after the transformer. But once I got all the way to the end point (just have batteries now for load) you can see it turns to crap.

Those 10kV cables take a long time to fill their internal buffer. How long did you wait, until you took your readings near the batboxes? Let it run for a few hours, it should become better.

Oh good point. That was after about 10 minutes. I'll let it run while I build the others and see if it improves.

Is it bad that I don't know how to turn BT into lava, without the BC Gens and Magma Crucibles?

Honestly that is the way to make lava form BT. you use the BT engine and a Magma Crucible.

Is that the the most efficient thermopile setup out there?

Not the MOST efficient. You can get more power by put more ice around the pile. But then you have the risk of the lava turning to basalt so you need a breaker set up to remove the basalt. Which increses its size.

But size to power I do belive thanks to XY blocks this is the more efficient in its foot print to power ratio.

U consider making a world download ;d?

Ive been asked this before. I can not promsis a full world download as it is on a tiny server for family and freinds.

But I will try and at least cutout the ships regions and port them into a stand alone world when I'm done. Or if MCedit ever updates just cut and paste the build into a flat land for people to look at.

Hey guys this is not dead... I am just currently side tracked a bit.

Currently I've start to play Warframe and also jumped on the Defience Beta. Also I've jumped into the Lumincraft.us server and doing my Shoopy best to be the servers luddite.

I'll deffently get back to this project but things are just spread a little thin at the moment.
