Optifine with grass

So basically I'm having a problem with my optifine I've installed it and it works fine except with grass for some reason in the biome i live in (a meadow) no longer has green grass the grass in the biome is now the same type as the one in vanilla plains biome and i really really love the green grass thats the whole reason i chose that biome anyways hopefully you guys can help me out because no one on my server can thanks

You mean the colour of the grass changed? Its most likely due to the setting in Optifine that allows texture packs to use "Custom Colors" in different biomes. You can turn it off in the Quality settings, but that would be rather a shame. Its one of the settings that really makes a difference in differentiating the different biomes.

EDIT: no wait, that doesn't actually change it. I think what happened is that your texture pack is the one changing the colour, but since Optifine is required to make it possible to change it, you have never seen it before now. Which texture pack are you using?

Hmm ok, been so long since I played without a texture pack, that I don't remember it having different coloured biomes.
Don't really know much about how Optifine effects the default texturepack.

There is the option for Better Grass, but that changes the textures on the side of the blocks to grass instead of dirt with a thin line of grass. It doesnt actually change the colour of the grass. At least with texturepacks.

Nope only optifine

Could you try and post some screenshots of what it looks like before and after?
