I think you may be getting a little off topic; to my understanding this thread is about Saice's project, not discussion of progress on Adeptcraft. There is, however, a new thread specifically about progress in the General Discussion section.
Saices city will be powered off my coal coke oven!

Looks like someone's jealous they don't have a nifty coal coke oven, doubling efficiency of coal, getting rails and steel!

PS: The whole point of the FTB forums is to stay as off topic as possible. ;)

1. Saice has stated that he prefers to work solo.
2. I had (and have on my singleplayer world) 2 Coke Ovens with semi-automation.
3. No, the point of having individual threads (as opposed to a chat system) is to organize things. If you are not aware, this site provides a Server Discussion section, as well as a few other threads that are dedicated to progress and base showcases. If you require links to these individual threads, I would be happy to find them for you. They are both in the General FTB Discussion section.

I actually have not decided yet what I want to power the city with. but I'm thinking maybe steam just ... well because.

i think there needs to be a block that just pumps out a steam particle effect when powered with steam, just so you can add a cool (hot?) steam-powered industrial aesthetic to your builds.

Or a special steam pipe block used to transport steam across long distances. Maybe a new feature where steam would lose power a little bit over long distances (so you can still use liquiducts in your base) or make it so these would transport it faster and not have to deal with a start-up time before transfer? These would have little steam particles sprouting from them as well.

Anyway, I really liked your choice of charcoal and I've started using that in my build today. Although I do wonder... How would that feel on your feet? x.x

Just saying, but moss does spread on ultimate too.

It's a feature of RP, and is restricted to when the cobble/bricks have water touching them and don't have a clear sight of the sky.

The important part here is running water, not still water.

I am quite sure I was having still water last time I tried...

Testing, please wait...

After testing, I can safely say that still water also does work.
If you want screens of the test, just ask.

Woah, calm down lol..

And Saice, how will you fuel that Solid/Liquid Boiler. Speaking of which, I need to talk to Omnicron.

What if there's no moss in the first place? Will it still work?

Aww, you're being serious...that's no fun.

Well, I did see saice say he didn't want to work with anyone, that's where the photo of him killing the sheep who wanted to work with him came up. Also, before he found this village, he said I could live nearby him. Of course, now that he's so far away and my lag will probably stop me from getting to him without dying, I decided to work with poppycocks instead, but I did have the choice to work with saice (well, until my computer crashed).

Coal coke ovens are some of the most useful items you can get early game, as I cry inside when people use coal without putting it in the oven in the first place. Since creosete provides 3200 heat and coal coke provides 6400 heat, 1 piece of coal can get you 8000 heat, but it's solid and liquid. Semifluid generators are useful too, and making rails with less iron is always a plus.

And, yep, went onto the Community Showcase thread, the Server Discussion thread, and most of the other threads on these forums and I know what they do and their use. In fact, this thread is in the wrong section ever since Community Showcase was added, but this was here first. I was just joking around, he's not gonna power a huge themed city off a single coal coke oven 10,000 blocks away.

No, you still need one piece of mossy to start the process, but it's not hard to come by.
I am not sure about the mossy brick, like if you can use mossy cobble or not to grow them, but at least, mossy cobble is really not hard to find, and once you have one, you can get stacks quite fast.

Oh, okay. I've come across a few dungeons and I do have some, but that is useful for themed builds. I may build something like that, cause I haven't built anything awesome in a while, I'm afraid I've lost some of my skill. :p

I was just talking with my friend on the bus home about how it would be great if we could use those charcoal blocks as fuel, then I thought: Even if we couldn't use that, we should be able to use IC2's COmpressed Coal Balls as fuel, and maybe Gregtech could add more compressed fuels like Coke Chunks (not drug reference). Also, I take it semifluid generator can use Creosote as a fuel source? All this time I've been either breaking the oven and replacing it, or throwing bottles of creosote into lava. xD

Charcoal blocks work as fuel in Minecraft 2.0. I think they cause stuff to explode though, so 'work' is an overstatement.

I shove as many creo bottles as I can, they'll fit in AE as if they're cobblestone.
I may just make rails with them instantly, and turn them back into iron as I get them for a little profit with an Alloy Furnace.
