What happened to cooling a nuclear reactor with ice? Is this not possible anymore? I checked the wiki but was not able to find anything really. Right now I have pipes hooked up to it but I was not even able to place ice in it. Is there any other way to use this ice for cooling if I can't place it directly?

Thanks so much

Oh okay, I have not been playing for a while but thanks for letting me know. Does anyone know a possible way to manually turn on the reactor but have it turn off once it gets too hot. Ive hooked up a thermal monitor to the reactor and set the temperature, the problem is, it outputs a signal once it gets too hot, which, turns the reactor "on" even though it is on already because of the active lever signal. IDK if there is a way to do it with gates but i have not found one yet, thank you for that

Take the lever off the reactor.

Pistons probably the simplest cutoff, but RP2 logic gates can do it more compact.

Example -- I had this running from a block or two away to get it hot:

The redstone from the monitor itself does not activate the reactor, so it is safe to have it directly on the reactor or any chamber.

Now to do a simple cutoff circuit:
Not gate on the sensor. And gate next to it.
