I have downloaded, updated, redownloaded and everything. I was able to play FTB 2 updates ago, but since the latest ones, I am not able to. Help?

Unpack the zipfile then place the instMods folder in your FTBETAA folder overwriting the existing one.
And then place the 3 folders in the .minecraft folder inside the FTBETAA\minecraft folder.
Then try to run the launcher and see if that helps.

I thought this would work but I can't open the zip file, it's corrupt.

Try to download the file again and watch closely, most likely it's stopping before the download finishes

The problem is almost certainly serverside so don't think there is much we can do exept wait for the FTB team / creeperhost to fix the problem

Well that really sucks. I was going to mess around a bit with the ftb pack today as I have yet had the time to fiddle with it. I downloaded it and....... it doesn't work. :p Well I suppose all I can do is wait. whining, complaining, and throwing a tantrum aren't going to do much good now are they. :p

You can try using the "Download Them All" extension for Firefox -- that seemed to do the trick for me.
Also, use the md5sum to make certain that it downloaded properly.

Download Them All downloads files in 4 parts (by default).

This means that it is downloading four parts in parallel, which is usually faster than downloading the file in one part. And allows for the re
In this case, it means that you are downloading ~7.8 mb per "part." It also has the ability to resume a stopped download -- I don't know if that is applicable here though.

Most everyone that have had problems downloading have problems around when around 20 mb has been downloaded.

Steps:
  1. Install Firefox
  2. Install Download Them All
    1. md5sum "2ef9d92c5748814077b02b9fe827a369"
    2. Insert md5sum in the hash field and change the hash type to md5
  3. Download the mods (use the Download them all option when the save dialog comes up)
  4. Extract the zip file (see #7)
  5. Run the launcher.
I hope I expounded upon what you wanted me to expound upon.

OK, thanks, got it downloaded using Download Them All.

Problem is, there's no error checking on the client, it just goes and wipes the mods folders if the download fails, taking out everything. I had a bunch of other mods in there as well, took them all out and gave me a clean vanilla client, didn't realize it until I opened a world and there were no mods showing (my dumb, I know) not a big deal, was really only a test world, but I'm sure the redwood forest outside my door is gone...
