So im playing Direwolf20 and I am in need of a lacerator, however I can not find diamonds at all. i am branch mining at around Y=10 and I cant find anything! any others ways to get diamonds in the early game?
No diamonds to be found!

IC2 macerator + Compressor. Macerate coal into coal dust. Make coal balls or whatever they are called(you do need obsidian for this, the Igneous Extruder is a good choice here) and then put those in the compressor to make diamonds.
And if you have problems with lava when branch mining, use something like Zans minimap with cave mode on. Or use the lava to make more obsidian and even more diamonds!
Thats it. You make coal balls out of dust and flint, then make coal chunks out of compressed coal balls and obsidian and then get diamond.
Ahh the other minimap that was on by default? That is added by Opis. Just disable Opis and the minimap should be gone.
Btw now that you use Zan's you can also enable Journeymap. It works together with either Zans or Reis and is a big normal map UI that stores the entire are that you have ever explored. You can also export the images. Here is an example of one I exported of my world earlier:

You could try Y level 6 which is the next best diamond ore bearing level. Also get some tinker's construct stone hammers and you will see a much greater surface area. No diamonds required to accomplish this and only need cobblestone to repair the tool when it breaks.
