Hey guys! I'm new here and decided to sign up since I am having some issues with my mystcraft age. I made a mystcraft void age and added in meteors, I suppose I could have ignored them but I wanted that space movie feeling and added them in. now I started to build my ship out of xycraft blocks (using Direwolf20's pack) and found that the meteors fell straight through as if invisible but in 4 hours of time spent working on it only one actually hit the ship and to my surprise it just ignored it.

Now my main concern is what would happen if I made the entire ship out of the xycraft shielding blocks and filled it with my many machines, would it just interact with those as if the blocks weren't there or would it actually just treat those machines as invisible?

If the latter is the case (aka blowing up on contact) what should I use to stop them from destroying my machines? or should I just stop and remake the age without meteors (it's pretty stable without them I just wanted them really for the occasional strike on the ship where I could just go out and mine them up) but this was going to be my new, not cramped, base I could just enjoy but as I'm making it it's looking more and more to be an issue with them in.

Edit: After a bit of work in the age I found they did interact with the blocks but instead of blowing up they just caused a massive hole, no explosions or anything, just a hole... going to remake the book without that and hope it's stable.

Can anyone suggest something that can resist those for future bases?

ouch, if you need a bit of tips I can help you. I suppose playing the old myst games when I was younger helped me create them. I've got my spaceship being constructed in one as we speak lol. I'm suprised how easily I picked it up tho. It is a pretty simple system once you understand how it works, also clear modifiers work tons. I've found mixing colors is a nice thing to do with stars so they aren't so bold in the night sky, a softer color makes it appear more like a real starfield, I think I'm just gonna copy/paste those into all of my books from now on.

If you are running thaumcraft with mystcraft I'd bring some goggles to your age cause sometimes a "charged" world isn't really charged, just the node is terrible. I am probably going to pop over to the mystcraft forums and give some suggestions for world combos so crystals can spawn in the void as if floating or something like that.

but is there really nothing I can do to prevent them? they're cool but god are they destructive...

not too sure, no idea why u would want meteors in ur world, if they are stopped by blast resistant blocks, mabye make a barrier that absorbs the explosion above ur base?
Other than that, not too sure if they would affect machines inside, ye know with greg tech and all, probably explode if you look at them wrong.
Just experiment.
