So, a little back story. A friend started a white-list server 17 days ago, with 24 players. In the first day I branch mined diamonds, built a quarry, geo-gen and started my operations. By the end of the first week, I'd quarried four 64x64 areas to bedrock, had me a work place setup running off advanced solar panels, etc. After my friend complained about the gigantic holes(can't blame him, lol), I took my operation else where: Myst craft ages. I got to work on leather + paper for books. After jumping through ~40 worlds I got the "crystals" symbol (more on this in a moment). After a little research a wrote my first age:
My plan was simple: run quarries off of solar power while collecting leather for books. So I started with a single quarry using: 2x advanced solar panels for each of 4 electric engines + various piping for power, sorting, and storage. By the time the first quarry finished, I had learned a few pitfalls of my first quarry, and set about changing them. The first being my chest holding ores would get too full and I'd lose items while not baby sitting it. The second was having to move between the worlds to get my goodies. I'd setup crystal portals on both sides but it still seemed too time consuming.
The first thing I did was setup track(LOADS of track) for where I'd place my next quarries(dot dot dot). This track would haul ores out of my myst craft world straight into a sorter/ore processor. Then I made QUITE a few advanced solar panels(64 to be exact) and 8 quarries. I set the quarries up in my usual 64x64 fashion and let them run. After a few derps everything ran SMOOTH.
While those ran, I created a massive coal->diamond processor in my quarry age(Creates a diamond about every 7 seconds) and directed coal, flint and obsidian to their relative positions in the processor.
I now sit on 12 stacks of diamonds...
I've told you my story to say I think with the other 'industrialization' mods, that mystcraft is a bit of an overkill in this mod pack. In under 2 weeks, I require very few ore-type resources(Iridum)...
