OK so here's the basics:

Using a little bit of redstone wizardry and some piston magic, I am attempting to create a truly *mobile* TNT cannon.

It's the first step to creating a panzer division in minecraft :D

The initial issue i'm having is the inability to pull/push the dispensers necessary for the activation of my TNT, the second is that moving blocks with pistons tends to remove water source blocks.

I'm really just wondering which mods transport pipes and world interaction items (something like autonomous activators, BC floodgates or the thingy from AE2) can reliably move with pistons and still dispense items/liquid source blocks?

Yeah this could be trickier than I initially thought.

I've actually done this before, the secret is redstone blocks, pistons, and a whole lot of slimeblocks

Edit: Just noticed that this thread was posted a minute ago and posted immediately... I spend too much time wasting it...

Time to be ingenious...

Build your tank layout with frames.
Have a way to move it (whether it's a lever to move forward, and button to fire. Or a button to move then fire, who cares?)
Build your TNT cannon, and where you have the source block of water, put a dispenser next to it with a bucket it (this can pick up the water on signal, and place water on signal)
Then wire it all up, and test.

PROFIT!

*I know it isn't using vanilla mechanics. But it will work

I think MFFS can move most things. If it is safe and/or performance friendly... o_O

Tartarus.. I mean at work. Same thing really.
Pistons can't move tile entities [and pretty much every block with an inventory is a tile entity].

I think MFFS can rotate blocks/structure.
As well as teleport, clone, move about, and shield you from incoming fire.
I'd love to see this working- if you can make it self powered ;)

Regular frames [certainly the old RedPower ones] could drag source blocks around.
but this might cause more problems with the number of flowing blocks -though it is a brilliant griefing mechanic in itself :)

What pack are you playing these days, Bloke? I need a mod list to spark my imagination.

I like Funky Locomotion myself... I've seen several YT'ers and streamers including Direwolf20 and other denizens of Forgecraft 2 use them easily for quarries.

DW20 even built a "Wireless Remote Control", a small AE2 system that automatically swaps full drives back to his base and replaces them with empty ones, and a "transport track" based rail system to teleport to the quarry (which was just replaced with the RFTools version of Mystcraft) on his Let's Play world.

I saw a youtuber use tico, computercraft, red power, and thermal dynamics to make a system to make liquid metal available as needed. He had one central pillar that had spouts but he just hit a button on the computer screen and the machine pumped the liquid metal into the dispensing tank. and it also allowed the tank to be cleared by pumping the liquid back into the holding tanks. It's an interesting idea to be sure. Got to love automation.

Given the pack is Infinity+, Funky Locomotion may be the easiest way to make a mobile system of remote destruction. If you mix in a few other mods, you can have a single driver's seat which can control the unit's movement (in any direction) and fire control systems.
