I've been using decorative force trees, and no matter what I do the branches keep decaying! The vanilla wiki says placed branches aren't supposed to ever decay. What's going on?

Could you possibly add what mod pack you are using, if your in a mystcraft world, etc.
Thanks
Sorry, I'm using Unleashed, I'm in the overworld, and I'm in a Taiga biome, but the trees are all underground.

Are you using a sheer to sheer the leaves off? Or are you planting a tree cutting it down and hoping the leaves dont decay?

All of my trees, whether sheared or natural have branches that are no more than two blocks from a force log, and are all touching other force leaves. They all have this problem though.

It could be that the mod developer of Dartcraft (forgot his name :/) did something with his code, so it doesn't work like the vanilla leaves.

[Wild guess] Or, if I remember correctly, he used the method that Mojang used when brining shears in the game for the first time, which made the leaves decay if there is no wood near.

All my leaves are attached to Force Logs or other Force leaves. I've tried both light and darkness and neither option worked. The leaves still continued to decay.

Do the ones directly next to the logs decay? Before with vanilla, the only ones that did not decay were within 5 blocks of a log through connected leaves.

Ok - ridiculous solution approach: Try putting normal wood blocks, like oak, next to them.
I would say it's a bug. (If the oak wood logs don't work, I don't think there is a way to get the to not decay)

I have three natural force trees that have lost all but two branches. Strangely, one of them has a detatched branch but doesn't seem to care...for now.

do you have a serious pollenation bee plant running? even within 4 chunks from an alveary? I wonder what happens when a bee tries to pollenate a leaf it cant recognize.

Nope. There are no bees in my base.

try planting an oak tree and see if it does the same thing. i noticed that some biomes have 'decayed' leaves and I wonder if it can happen to newly planted trees. Also, my willow trees wont maintain their 'cone' in the tundra biome and I wonder if it has a similar root cause. Maybe BoP limits leaf distance in certain biomes.
