Actually, making a production line of toast into a Culinary Generator isnt a bad way to go. It would at least be a semi-useful way to fix yourself of surplus.

I tend to watch the amounts in my ME, and when they hit a critical mass, I try to find useful ways to dispose of them. If I can't use them for something productive, I try to eliminate the need to bring them onto the system in the first place.

Exception may be stone/cobble, as I use it regularly to draft larger projects, and I hate to wait on cobble gens when I'm in a groove. Anything over a JABBA barrel full goes to compressionville to live until needed (which is less often than I think, but more often than I can go without having surplus).
