more ram

i want to allocate more ram, but the launcher only gives me 1gb ram, while my pc has 8gb

how can i solve this?

I have 16GB and i dedicated 10 for it, but it only uses 2 as max anyway

Go to options. Drag the slider. That easy.

you need to get a 64 bit version of java . If you just have the 32 bit version you cant allocate anymore than 1 gig.
