Is there anything like this around?

Also, is it possible to cover all the needs with only open source mods? Between BC, Logistic Pipes, MFR and Modular Powersuit it seems I'd have all - logistic, processing and tools... Maybe except ore doubling :/ What else should I add?

Seems like quite a "sharp edged" and elitist modpack.....
So many great things will be missing, dont think anyone would play it.
Unless they have a grudge against all modders who use closed source stuff.

Your also being so vague nobody could tell which version of minecraft you mean, 1.6.2 or 1.5.2
Better storage is good, but most people prefer iron chests.
Mekanism is always fun if you want ore doubling.

I dont get how you will charge your power suits though, last time i tried using mekanism it corrupted my world.

There is nothing wrong with closed source mods, maybe except dying suddenly one day when author lose interest.
1.5.2 will do.

I'll check better storages and mekanism, thanks.

Powersuits can't be charged with BC? Pity:(

They can be charged with TE, but it's not open source.

For your modpack thing, check out EnderIO and Redstone in Motion. Both great mods and open source.

Well 1.5.2 pretty much wont be supported any more, so it should be ok if all the mod developers go away one day.
It looks like your just being awkward because you can :/

Also, just because the mod is open source doesnt mean that anyone can update it, so your idea for a modpack may not go how you want it to.

Well, if it's open source it can be updated/extended, when the author loses interest, but it does not necessarily mean it will be updated.

Power suit can be charged using Power Converter mod (by PowerCrystals).

In a perfect world, everything could be open source because people wouldn't steal code or ideas.

Unfortunately this is not a perfect world. People copy code and steal ideas and sue each other for it right, left upside-down, and sideways. It's very tragic and I think I speak for everyone when saying I wish it would end for good. Open source provides a great source of content sharing and an even greater source of learning via examining code and expanding upon it with your own ideas.

As far as an open source modpack goes, you're out of luck. Most mods don't publically release their own code. Sure you'd get some meat in their, but it wouldn't be so juicy.

I made one myself in MultiMC. Here is the list of the mods

Code:
Barrels 3.1-1.5.2.jar
buildcraft-A-3.7.2.jar
ChickenChunks 1.3.2.14.jar
CodeChickenCore 0.8.7.3.jar
Galacticraft-1.5.2-a0.1.36.410.jar
InventoryTweaks-1.54b.jar
ironchest-universal-1.5.2-5.2.8.446.zip
LogisticsPipes-MC1.5.2-0.7.3.ftb.631.jar
mapwriter-2.0.5.zip
Mekanism-v5.5.6.121.jar
MekanismGenerators-v5.5.6.121.jar
MekanismTools-v5.5.6.121.jar
MFFS_v3.1.0.175.jar
MinecraftForge.zip
MineFactoryReloaded-2.6.4-975.jar
ModularPowersuits-0.7.0-534.jar
MPSA-0.2.3-165_MPS-531+.jar
Natura_1.5.1_2.1.4.jar
NotEnoughItems 1.5.2.28.jar
PowerConverters-2.3.1-58.jar
PowerCrystalsCore-1.1.6-107.jar
The Camping Mod 1.0.2a.jar
UniversalElectricity_v1.4.0.89.zip
XACT v0.3.5b-59.jar

Works without editing configs. Has nearly everything. Even teleporters. Some stuff is UE and some is BC, but Universal Cables can connect pretty much everything with everything (in 1.5.2, at least).

I'll probably try to make a real "Private Code Public" FTB pack when FTB will move to 1.6.2

Yes :) But I still can't find where it said it was open source.

Indeed, "has github" does not means "open source"

MFR is "free for non-commercial use" - http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1629898-151152-powercrystals-mods-the-updates-never-stop/
Which is not quite "open source", but close.

MFFS3, while also has github, has a very closed license - no redistributing, as is or modified. Effectively that also forbids forking, unless you want to pay github to make this fork private.

If you really want an open source mod with ore doubling, my mod, Engineer's Toolbox, which has recently been made open source, has ore doubling (and tripling if you manage to set up the extra infrastructure required), in the more recent versions.

It will also hopefully soonish be capable of charging MPS stuff, but doesn't work properly with it yet.

Thanks, mod is great, but I could not find license for it. If you haven't decided yet which to use, probably Minecraft Mod Public License (http://www.mod-buildcraft.com/MMPL-1.0.txt) would be a good choice.
