Don't they have some sort of command line reading?
And even if not, misc Periferals has a chat box.
Which can read chat, so you can type in chat to initiate commands to your computer.

And I think there is also a more direct way of doing this... Included in this mod itself.
No touch-screeny GUIs or anything tho'z
 
Yes, they do :)

If you're wearing the glasses, you can type any command, prefixed with "$$" and it'll send a "chat_command" event to your lua.

So you could say... $$glasses, show me my tanks!

and the computer could switch it to your tanks data!

I guess if everyone on the server was wearing glasses linked to the same spot loaded bridge, you could write some kind of server-side PMing system ;)

Or just use twitter..
 
Righty.. unless I come up against any major problems MPS module will be in the next release.

Oh my god, please tell me that isn't just a photoshop. I didn;t expect that so fast! This is possibly the coolest addition to CC in a while. The possibilities are endless!

Right now, I have ideas for an AE resource ticker floating in my head.
 
Glasses + hologram emitter, maybe a control circuit.

EDIT: only noticed them in your inventory now, so I reckon that that's the actual recipe. What do you mean by cost? Energy wise?
 
Modular powersuits integration complete. Just adding a few extra things in before the next release.

It's probably won't get into any of the main FTB packs, as the maintainers agree with ya, so you don't have to worry about that.

I'm personally going to have so much fun wit this :D.
 
If only this was in the official FTB Modpack, i would so use the glasses for my computercraft rubiks cube map im making.
oh well, i guess i will have to make a cheaper worse version of a UI using a chatbox :(
 
Rumours are it may well get into an FTB pack.. I've had a 'green light subject to change'!

I don't really think it's OP. It seems it at first, but when you really think it, it's not really OP at all.
It doesn't give you much in the way of advantages. It just lets you sync things up nicely together or give you a nice way to display your data.
If you compare it to almost any other mod out there, it's nowhere near as "OP".

And yes, it sinks no resources, but lets face it, resources in Minecraft aren't exactly an issue. In fact, you get so much from other mods that you need entire mods dedicated to storing your huge collection of resources.

The "resource sink" in OpenPeripheral is time, the barrier is programming skill and the possibilities powered by imagination :)
