I am frustrated with the way Forge and/or the current mods in, for example, the DW20 pack handle sharing metals and recipes for going from ingot to nugget to ingot to block to ingot.
First, what ingot you get depends on your smelting method. I can understand that, it usually makes sense that there's certain choices that come first unless the mod has a furnace in which case that mod's ingot comes out.
The real problem in my mind is that no matter what ingots you use, a given mod's block is created (copper, tin, etc.).
Then when you craft that block into ingots, it doesn't necessarily use the same priority ingot you'll get from a furnace or even the same ingot as the one from the mod the particular block is from.
Furthermore, converting to nuggets and back can change your ingot to being from yet another mod.
I love the ore dictionary, but handling conflicting recipes needs to be changed for consistency, basing your result on something consistent or a config and not whatever method is used now.

Anyone have a suggestion of what to do? (I am an admin on the server, we're actually in the process of moving to FTB and have only been testing so far.)
I had the great idea to auto-process incoming metals from ore to ingots to blocks and back to ingots on demand, but the behavior outlined above makes this idea very impractical.
