mod list for direwolf20 1.6 pack?

Nothing against people who enjoy that pack but there's a point where it's too bulky and too cheaty. I've always liked FTB because it tries to balance things, the DW20 pack tries even harder. I believe DW20 didn't include Dartcraft in his 1.5 pack, which I fully agree with. Soon as I realized how OP this mod is I removed it from the server.
I have to agree on the "superior" launcher part though. FTB needs to pick it up or it's going to lose many followers to other better maintained launchers/packs. Latest news posts are all about the FTB store and partnerships, how about some launcher updates? We don't even know if it's a day away or a year away.
Have you looked at DC1.6? It's been rebalanced a LOT.. there are still some things that are a WIP, but it is no longer the SUPAH OP!!! that it used to be.
Revealing that kind of information only leads to complaints, counter-complaints, name-calling, and thread locking. And as far as DW20 is concerned, his mod list is his own business, and he will reveal it when he wants to. He is probably waiting for the FTB team to confirm whether he can get all the mods he wants together, or whether there are irreconcilable compatability problems. Although he should know that already.
don't be saying things which you don't know. I haven't heard or read anywhere where Direwolf says he dislikes DC or says it's too OP for his pack. you're forgetting Direwolf used to play with EE2 in his LP series, which we can all agree on is the most OP mod for minecraft ever made. Direwolf puts together his pack based on the things he wants to do in his LP, the mods he likes and the mods he think he'll need.
as for the launcher, it's a completely new launcher, which needs to work for Minecraft 1.6 and has to be compatible with all the modpacks, and it needs to be mostly bugfree, if they were to give out information like every week it'd only end like this
people seem to forget that FTB is run by volunteers, by people who do it for free and that this forum is about FTB, not just the modpacks. yes, FTB has a merchandise store opened right now, but that doesn't mean they're swimming in money right now or are only doing things to get money now. if you can't wait for the launcher, so be it. I respect that FTB is taking it's time to deliver us a launcher that's been perfectioned and polished to the point that they are satisfied on releasing it.
Honestly, if FTB is still run by volunteers, then there is way too much merchandising talk and making money involved. That also means sponsorships they take. Last FTB map? I dont think we will see a FTB map anymore.
it's not that easy to just make a whole new FTB map just like that. people who're working for FTB also have their own lifes besides being part of FTB, and that comes first. and yes, FTB is trying to make some money with things like merchandise and partnerships, but it's not to just get rich. they do it to be able to offer us better services. you think things like this forum and the hosted files for the launcher and modpacks and such come for free? FTB also wants to try to actually financially support modders for their mods, FTB also wants to make a new FTB map, they also want to release new modpacks, there's so many things they want to do, but their personal life comes first!
there has not been a map for over 1 year now. i discount that eSports map that only took 30 minutes to complete. And i've seen atleast 2 different starts of the map, both never continued (Warehouse and Vesuvius)

as I mentioned "it's not that easy to just make a whole new FTB map just like that." a map isn't made by 1 or 2 people, it's made with a whole team, with each person having their own job. to be able to work on a map like that, you need everyone to be able to work on a map at about the same time, you can't just simply send a save file from one person to another. all these people in a team like that also need to find free time to work on that map. just look at the monument of the FTB Insanity map and see how many people worked on that map.
you also need to remember that a certain group of mods are needed for a map like that. they all need to have a good compatibility with eachother and not have serious bugs. then FTB need to make a map quickly enough before Mojang decides to release a new Minecraft version. if FTB were now to release a map for 1.4.7 there's a good chance not many people are interested in it just because it's already an old version
A map can be made in a month by 1 or 2 people. The Solitary Asylum took that long (its basically a FTB Style map). But seeing em Starting over and over and most news are about merchandising, sponsorships and getting money in general are making me think that they aren't really interested in it anymore cause they just follow the corporation laws they imposed on themselves. And yes, you can not simply send a save file... they have atleast 1 Server running Forgecraft and a lot of playtime goes into that server. I would suppse it would just need em to ask for a server and 10 Servers of decent power will pop up from their CreeperHost sponsorship and about 100 offerings from the community will be made. A certain group of mods may be needed, but they basically already exist and just need to be used.

If information was released before things were ready do you realize what would happen? Everyone's inbox would be flooded with spam, mostly slowpoke, and I'm sure his inbox already gets flooded.
I remember watching a Slowpoke stream a while back and he flipped over to the forums because of one guys hate thread that was hilarious, and it showed like 135 unopened messages or something crazy like that.
I never said he didn't like DC. I said he didn't include it in his pack. He did a mod spotlight for it, so he obviously likes the mod, but that doesn't mean the mod would blend well with his modpack. He did state on the spotlight he feels the mod is OP though.
Having both Tinker's Construct and DC doesn't make sense to me, that's probably why he didn't include it. It seems to me like DC is a more casual version of Tinkers, designed for people who want to have the best tools, weapons, and armor hours after creating a new world. That's great for people who want to do that, but I really don't think it belongs in a modpack (by default) with all those much harder to progress mods.
well, it was in by default because Slowpoke really liked it at that time, he really had alot of fun with it.
Gregtech was also added in the pack back then, because Slowpoke really liked it.
but you're right on the fact if you've both DC and TiC installed they kind of make eachother pointless...
