MindCrack Wont Download (Has Information!)

im sure you've heard this a thousand times, but none of the modpacks will download for me, every time i try it, i get an error message. I decided to investigate, and found that the "MindCrack" folder that is made only contains a 0 kb document called "version" if that helps. Another thing, about halfway through, the size of the download drops from about 4000 kb to about 1000. Also, i ran it with administrator, before you ask.

It says i have the latest java and i did everything you listen under b

EDIT: Java 1.7.0_09 to be exact. Also, i thought i should tell you that i cant download any new version of Tekkit, either

Java 7, update 9 is not the newest version of java, update 15 is.

You have remove it and download new one because there was error with java 7 update 9 it wont find newer version

I download jre-7u17-windows-x64.exe if i'm running 32 - bit windows 7, correct?

No, that is for 64 bit java

• x64 = 64bit
• x86 = 32bit

ahhhhhhh dicks. does online/offline matter?

Just on how you want to download it.

Offline = Downloads the entire file to your computer and installs it
Online = Downloads just the launcher, then downloads the rest during the installation process.

It normally does not matter which one you use. Offline is more for people who want to redistribute it. Or to download it and install it on another computer. I usually download the offline because It will install quicker then the online version.

um, your doing it wrong....

1. Go here and download Windows x86 Offline, save it to your desktop
2. When it is completely downloaded, open your control panel
3. Go to "Uninstall a program"
4. Remove EVERYTHING JAVA! All of it.
5. Restart your computer
6. Install the Java from your desktop.

read and done all of that already

Try this

• In the options menu of the launcher, change the install folder to "C:\FTB\"

It seams their is a problem for some people when their is a space in the path.

• C:\Users\Todd Hovey\AppData\
• The space in your name

Ignore the first three steps as they are for updating JAVA and you did that

Follow steps 1-11 In the "Fix #1" area.

How many repetitions does step 10 normally take?

Usually one, I've had it go three times though. I have no idea why.
