Mindcrack - Getting started

Which mods would be good to get started with? usually it'd be IC2, but GregTech cut that dream short... so. Forestry? Computercraft? Or just save up and go head first into the GregTech?

First thing you do: GET AN ELECTRIC JETPACK.
Get whatever you have to so you can get it. That should be your VERY FIRST goal. A jetpack is almost a necessity with all these huge biomes and everything.

You can always disable Gregtech hard mode if you don't like it. But Thermal Expansion is always good for your basic set of machines. You could always go to the Youtubers section ( http://forum.feed-the-beast.com/forums/youtubers.16/ ) or check out the Mindcrack guys themselves.

First thing to do : get clay for coke ovens and to coal coke.

TE pulverizer in mindcrack is very cheap since they don't enable the expensive mode recipe of TE, if you enabled the hard mode of TE I recommend to go for rotary macerator, if you didn't, pulverizer all the way.

That is, if you plan on doing anything will rails at all. Coke ovens take FOREVER.

Well, I had 4 coke ovens before going to fuel, you can always multitask i.e. like burning the coal when you are mining..
