* Reduce the spawn rate in the Tinkers Construct config (I think, it was 8 originally. Take it down to 2 or 3)
I think I might do this actually.

As someone said, tesla coils are great for slimes. Have just set up a bit of a perimeter myself using them. The materials aren't that bad.
pretty much all you have to do.[DOUBLEPOST=1384045431][/DOUBLEPOST]too keep everything out, all you need is a 2-3 high fence with a extruding lip so that spiders can't crawl over.Build a taller fence?
Totally on the aside your woes are not premitent. The new versions of TiCo has moved the blue slime army to just the new floating slime island. So while it does not help you now you can rest assure in a later update you will not have to worry about the army of slimes as much.
Ah do they have a constant power draw now? Last time I used tesla coils I just had a solar charge up an mfsu, and the Coil only used power when it was actively killing stuff.depends on how many coils- but the the running cost which makes it interesting.
2Eu/t/coil I think.
(you could half this with a daylight sensor to turn them off during the day, and a large enough battery)
Something that I do quite often. I use something like Smooth sandstone wall for lowest level and then place fence on top. Looks quite nice imo.Build a taller fence?
except for those who decide to start a base on those islands
Or worse still UNDER those islands...
Great first base start in RR, "Phew looks like no slimes out and about" *leaves house* Large slime lands on head...
