Heya!

I'm having some major issues with conveyor belts trying to move some mobs around, mainly baby cows in this case. The babies are moved from a pen via a chronotyper, but they keep persistenly running up the conveyor belt resulting in a massive cow clog on the belt after a while.

I've checked the config file and it has mob moving enabled and I can't seem to find a way to stop them from running up the belt no matter what I do. When the babies finally grow up, the still keep resisting the conveyor and continue running infinitely.

How have you guys gone around this issue of moving animal babies with conveyors?

This is most likely happening because of the mechanic where the baby animal tries to stay close to it's parents. I don't really know any way to resolve this, sorry.

Tested dropping them downwards and then conveying them, but no dice. Tried up to 5 blocks down, but they still run up the belt to get closer to their parents.

Oh, they always will, that's not what I was getting at though.

Just build the maturing area under the breeding area.

Aye I figured your idea was to just drop em down and process there, but that ain't gonna work the way I want. I was referring to the guy who said to drop em down 2 blocks and try to convey them from there.

You could try using a stream of water instead of Conveyor Belts. Doesn't look that cool, but should work better.
Or just process them right after the Chronotyper.
Yeah, this is what I do, I have a maturing/slaughter room right underneat the breeding pen, so that the shaggy worn out parents upstairs can hear the death yelps of their offspring as I process them into liquid meat, skin, flesh and essence.

Its not so much that they go after their parents but any animal. I had success once with a chicken farm where I had a single adult held at the end of a conveyor belt which fooled the chicks into going away from where they hatched, into the place where chickens go to die.
