Well, I got a new computer a few days ago, and while playing FTB, it chokes on 15FPS. My old computer ran without a problem, but the GPU would overheat. It was a NVIDIA card. My new computer has a AMD Radeon HD 7470, which is more than enough to run FTB. I think the issue is because the GPU doesn't recognize FTB as a game, but I have no idea how to change that via the Catalyst Control Center.

May or may not be of help here, but in my case with an NVIDIA card, I couldn't get it to recognize FTB specifically...I had to tell my NVIDIA control panel to recognize javaw.exe as something to run with the NVIDIA card as opposed to integrated graphics. Threw me off for a while with similar FPS to your own before I figured that out.

Sorry for late reply, but I don't have a NVIDIA card. Instead of NVIDIA control panel, I have Catalyst control panel.

Edit: All I am asking is if anyone knows how to get my non-NVIDIA card to recognize Java.

This works with my Nvidia card, I'm hoping it will with yours as well.
Try renaming the FTB launcher to minecraft.exe
This should work if Minecraft works when launching with the vanilla launcher.

I have a Gigabyte ATI HD 7850 OC Edition which uses the Catalyst Control Center and I didn't have to change anything for it to work. Are your Graphics drivers updated, also make you turn off VSync in settings so you can go higher than your monitor refresh rate
