First, sorry if this is the wrong area to ask this.

Does anyone know if it is possible to convert a world made in the Direwolf20 1.5.2 pack to 1.6.4 pack?

1. Backup your world.

2. Copy it into the 1.6 folder and play the world. If blocks are gone, it means your configs are different, and you'll need to reallocate some ids. Delete the world, close minecraft, and restore copy the backup into the saves folder.

3. If stuff's gone, then you probably only want the builds that took ages to make (eg: ME systems, multiblock machines, that 50 foot toilet you made out of TiCo blocks, etc.), and any ores that were present in your old world. Find the configs in BOTH modpacks that correspond to the mod stuff you want to restore, find the block/item IDs for the stuff you need, and make sure the new ids are the same as the old ids. (Just the parts you need, not the entire ids in the config). In some mods, the configs will be in exactly the same format, and you will be able to simply copy the entire old config over, but in most cases new items will be added and the configs will differ. Experiment, although remember to back up your world's original copy in case ids screw up.

4. Check for conflicts. Remember, only ores and complex stuff should be configured, any other basic things you had in your world (eg: barrels, macerators and generators) can be manually re - added by cheating them from Creative or NEI.

5. Profit.

Be prepared to spend a lot of time trying to port over your world only to find that in the end, you would have been better just starting afresh.

I actually did port an old 1.3 world that I found in my hard drive to 1.4, and it was actually really simple (mainly because I didn't care that a lot of my machines died.) All I did was conserve the Ids for ores in the world, and then ported it over to 1.4. A lot of stuff was gone, and a lot of stuff was other stuff, but after a day of gathering lots of Thaumcraft crucibles where my solar panels once were and throwing them into lava, I had a functional world. I then played it as if I was the owner of some run down facility, trying to refurbish it. Good times, and very easy if you hate spending ages poring at two configs.

Slow has flat out said that too much has changed to make porting your map viable, I know for sure that you will lose all liquids you have due to the changes to fluids

Then refill them in Creative.
