Hi, just as the title says I was wondering if there is a way to control the inventory of players entering/leaving your base. Like removing all their items when they enter only to return it all when they leave. Some kind of system thet remembers witch player had that diamond and so on.

I have been playing around with Applied Energistics and Computercraft but I haven't managed to get any mayor thing working.

So my question is if it's even possible to make something like i described or if it's just plain impossible
(Just now I play with the Direwolf20 modpack)

Also sorry if I posted this in the wrong section

In the Direwolf20 pack, it's possible to take the items, but unless you want to just drop the items in front of them using turtles or buildcraft pipes, you can't give them back. In monster, it's "possible"(but probably hard), using Remote IO.

Well, I dont think such a thing is possible. Not with DW20 at least.
If you had RandomThings, there is a block called Player Interface that allows you to use the players interface as a chest, so you can pipe items in and out or connect a AE network to it. But I would assume you would need your guests to come along and set up a Player Interface them self for it to work.

I believe MFFS can do something like this. I haven't played with it too much to give a direct explanation to it, but I think it is able to read a player's inventory and possibly even modify it. As for returning it, that can probably be done with a pipe system hooked to a chest somewhere.

I have pretty much figured out the removal part, using a OpenPeripherals PIM and a Me system hooked up to it. Could the sensors from OpenPeripherals be used as a player detector when connected to a computer? and by player detector I mean detect witch player it is that stands close to it.

Yeah, those sensors should be able to record which players walk within its range.

then you could make a chest for every player on the server (Curently only 12 active players on my server) and have it so that when the items get sucked up by the system it all goes to "That" players chest and when he leaves you could have the sensor check witch player it is again and return everything that was in the chest.

Sounds interesting. I personally don't know how to setup something like that, but it would work as a nice form of base security.

It's a nice idea but I would say no, not possible.
The only way is if the player/s entering/leaving your base want you to take their items, then it could be semi-automatic.

What about OpenPeripherals PIM (Player Inventory Manager) ?

It can both insert and extract items from a player
