Mac Issues, Download freezes

I'm having issues with the FTB Launcher on mac. Every time I try and download a modpack it freezes on some random number, it doesn't get above 2000kb. I wanted to use the modpack Yogcraft because its what Sjin uses and It looks great.
If anyone could help it would be much appreciated.
Or if somebody could tell me how to install the current Yogcraft into my normal minecraft then that would also be great

Oh, I have Java 7 but how would that effect the download of the modpack, also what version of Java 6? there is heaps of java version 6. How do I uninstall Java 7 or would Java 6 overwrite 7?

You cannot use Java 7 on a mac if you're using a modded minecraft launcher.
You want J6u45.

Ok I got the laucncher to work and it downloads because I got that Java version, but then it keeps crashing, I've tried that command that people say to use and it still crashes. So then when I go to play the technic launcher it says that I have to downgrade, so my queston is, does the FTB launcher auto update java? if so, how do I turn it off.
