Ok this all worked fine with the original FTB launcher for mac now siren the curse launcher I get Alien Jumbled Writing on all text in FTB and OG Minecraft. (forum has no upload feature so can't show a screenshot)
Ive looked around for about a month now and cannot find a Fix for this. (running on a Mac Pro 2009, NvidiaGt120 X3 graphics card 8gig Ram X2 2.26 quadCore-Inetl Xeon) (this machine is now 7 years old getting a Gaming PC but it Used to run it fine until curse launcher so no idea why it won't run now.)

Are you getting text that looks like most of the blocks in this screenshot from a while back?

It seems to be a strange platform-dependent bug in Forge that only manifests on OSX. Try updating Forge to the latest version; if that doesn't do it, installing Tinker's Construct seemed to limit the corruption when I first encountered this bug to mostly TiCon items, instead of nearly everything in the game. It may also help for you, if you don't already have it installed.

In addition, there seems to be some other mod, or a combination of mods, that solves it completely- I've only ever had it happen on very small packs; large packs seem to work fine.

On my Chromaticraft instance (with just ChC, NEI, and their dependencies), I get scrambled text on the splash screen when it first appears (and is frozen, because ChC does that), but it fixes itself when the screen unfreezes itself half a minute later.

It's weird.

I think the problem is newer versions of forge running on older versions of Java. I don't think I've had the problem since updating Java, but I've also moved on to MC1.10.2. Whatever was happening seemed to randomly mess up some of the texture mapping, but if you do get to a readable menu screen, you can clear it up for the game session by choosing a texture pack (default if you don't have one installed).
