Hi guys! My name is Andrei.

I recently moved into a new house but i couldn't bring my gaming rig with me because i didn't have the space for it, so it remained at my parents' house.
Now, I got an old laptop that I used to game on and I wanted to try out some MC modpacks, to bring back the old days ;) .

Here are the specs:

CPU : Intel Core i3 370M @ 2.7GHz
RAM : 3GB RAM ( 2,86 GB Usable )
GPU : The one that came with the CPU :)

I think that's all you need.

I know that I won't be playing some 1.12 modpacks but I want to know roughly what is the latest modpack that my system can handle!

Peace!

With only 3GB ram I'm going to guess that you're running 32 bit Windows and Java, otherwise there'd probably be 4GB supplied when the system was new. Either way I'd say you would be pushing things running anything newer than a 1.7.10 pack, particularly with Intel Integrated graphics and the 256MB it stole from the system ram.

At best you'll most likely only have 1GB available after accommodating the OS and Java runtime. Some lite packs can run with that limitation but don't expect to use anything more than minimal graphic settings in the game, nor an FPS number to brag about.

Check your Java version to be sure it's 64-bit... The 32-bit version of Java used to be the default installation unless you specified 64-bit, and a 64-bit Minecraft and mudpack requires 64-bit Java.

If, as you say you have 64-bit hardware the best thing you can do is add ram... at least get 4GB installed or 8GB is better so you have a decent amount to allocate for the
Java heap.
