Not really advertising he asked for a good server hosting company and Luke here was just telling him the specs of his server that he may be interested in, which is quite relevant to the question asked. Also from what I have seen a lot of people ask for a good hosting company's in this section.

This is the rule for advertising 8. No buy selling or unsolicited advertising of items or services on the forums. so yea since he was looking for a host I don't think it breaking it.

So they banned my account. I apologise for rule breaking - but I wasn't advertising, as two people have said already I saw that I could offer something better and so I did.
Don't worry I will private message people from now on and we hope that no one has gotten upset over this.

Thanks,

PPX Hosting Owner[DOUBLEPOST=1384878952][/DOUBLEPOST]If you would like to 'chat' about 'completely' unreleased topic that does 'not' involve advertising then please free to add me on Skype PPXhosting - where we can 'chat' and talk as 'friends'. I would not wish for 'anything' else.

I don't know how subtle I can make it :D But I can imagine you all get the picture...

A better approach, "Hi i'm Luke I heard of a good host called PPX Hosting, try them out!" rather then showing up as the owner and advertising. It was advertising so i'm not against the ban. Also coming back again with a duplicate account was not the best idea either.

As for a good host i'm still in the OVH boat- they have some $30 a month dedicated servers you might like. (I use the $150 a month EG1 and I support 120 ish players at the same time just fine and still growing.)

Keep in mind OVH is totally hands off so they are not best for every buyer. That why they are so "cheap". They just wait an hour and plowed you into a metal housing and hooks up you up to the wiring. Game crashed, abnormal CPU usage, don't know how to install something, and etc too bad so sad.

Thats unmanaged hosting, however if you just want a minecraft server you can get support- these forums and minecraftforums as well for minecraft support. All dedicated servers are good to go when you buy them. (Any hardware issue and OVH is a good friend will free repairs, fixing, etc. +they have full anti DDOS protection with up to 2tbps bandwidth on a physical protection which can be moved to up to 3 locations to fully protect you from DDOS) not many hosts do that, not many at all.

Ultimately I think it comes down to unmanaged vs managed hosting

Well if you are looking for full managed hosting included in the price I would recommend, that you go with my friend....

If you get what I mean. ;)

Know what? The Smelters claiming in their ads "we will fix it and make sure it is fixed for good" is invalid and so their fully managed hosting

Here what they said about concerning if a world broke

Your world compatibility is a modpack issue and out of our hands
Me
alright thanks anyways.

If the modpack authors decide to make world breaking changes, there is nothing we can do about it. What you can do is make sure to have backups of your world files before updating, so if an update breaks your world, you are able to revert back to the earlier version if you want

Umm half bake fully managed support is not what I am wanting to get out of 12 dolars a GB per month! Fragnet failed in the similar department as well and not caring about what caused the 100% CPU usage. Hopefully Big Scots got the shared hosting+manged hosting that I been "dying" for.
