I'm hearing a lot of voices calling out at once, Alderaan style. Just so everyone knows, hitting the IOException error is not an issue on Feed the Beast's side (i.e., not launcher/modpack related).
It's actually Minecraft's login servers being down due to maintenance (probably exacerbated by the 30k+ simultaneous logins from FTB).
