Seems like the Transposer requires a specific recipe to be input in the API instead of just checking if the input item is a liquid container that can hold whatever liquid is inside. It would be up to mod authors to add recipes to it, so it's entirely possible that it's just an oversight on Sengir's part. Alternatively, maybe he didn't want to encourage people to use a "competing" machine to his own.

Offhand I'm not sure why this is happening - my guess is an outdated Forestry API on my end. The new Fluid API will bring some changes around, so it'll get fixed with 3.0, whenever that is.
