tbh "you lose your stuff when you die" ceases to be a concern once you get one of the several types of armour that make you basically impervious to anything the environment can throw at you.

Fall in lava in an MPS with a cooling system and thermal generator and GIGGLE as it just playfully recharges your batteries for you, for example.

if I have several bags of holdings on me I often rename them in the anvil.
I really hoped tema would've made it so you'd be able to dye the bags of holding by now, but sadly that hasn't happened yet :(

However, the MPS suit is not impervious to magical damage from AM2, for instance. I want to be perfectly sure that, if I happen to die, I won't lose anything important minus my armor. Is there any way to keep the MPS suit on death that you know of?

well... I also hoped it'd be possible to use the paint brushes to color clay blocks and wool, like how you're able to paint stone and wood, but sadly that's also not possible
