My computer is lagging. In single player.

I have run over multiple items and it has been delayed 1-3 seconds... I've been rubber-banding. All sorts of nonsense.

How is this possible? Trying out Monster 1.0.6.

If you explored any bit of your map, you may want to disable ATG. If you just started the world, try enabling ATG first, as the "default" and "bop" gave me significant lag issues at first.

For some reason I had this issue where the other generators lagged me or just didn't work.. I turned ATG on and it worked great, but I was experiencing block-lag. After a while I turned ATG off and it suddenly started working fine. If I remember right, there was an issue with Mariculture and ATG conflicting.

If you are using ATG, try disabling mariculture.

I like what Mariculture adds (rings/necklaces/ocean Gen) too much to disable it. So exploring new chunks with ATG enabled and disabling it when I'm just doing stuff at the base was the best route for me.

You can turn off ATG and not lose any items/ores/etc.. but turning off mariculture would remove stuff.

Hmm.

Well, I'm done for the evening. I was trying to get a mod I'm working on tested, but I sidetracked and decided to check out ATG land.

So, ATG is neat. I like the hills a lot, and I enjoy the smooth curves of the land. Topography is varied and smooth, and there are enough natural caves and flat areas to find of interest. The downsides I saw were that everything seems to be the same, variety comes at an extremely slow pace and I dunno.

Maybe I'm just tired. Minecraft is hard when I'm tired ._.

ATG is neat, but seems to lack a "flow". I expect valleys to eventually lead downwards into a sea. Instead they frequently just head back up again.

The biggest "Danger" for me of ATG is - the strange and mysterious ore placement. The Monster (and perhaps universal) retrigger ore generation above 128 for ATG compatibility but that still leaves a lot of dead space between 64 and 128 where very few ores are going to be present.

there's actually quite a few mods that could be the problem. for me ATG, Mariculture and SpecialMobs were the mods that gave me quite some lag...
I recommend first removing ATG, if the lag still happens, remove Mariculture, if that also doesn't help, remove SpecialMobs aswell

For those with lag issues with ATG, set the following in Mariculture's worldgen.cfg to false: Deep Oceans, Remove Mineshafts in Oceans, Water Filled Ravines in Oceans
This is from the Mariculture thread. No idea if it has already been fixed or not. Try it and see if performance improves.

That's one of the configs that got messed up in 1.0.6 ;), I believe, which is why those issues would be back for people :p

Yes, fixed with the 1.0.7 hotfix. About 5ish configs got rolled back somehow. The hotfix also fixes the openblocks graves issue and removes the spawning (and respawning, and responding) of the rotarycraft handbook in inventories.

Don't know about anyone else, but 1.6.4 lags like mad for me. It's worse than anything in 1.4.7, or 1.5.2. No particular reason that I can see either.
