Just noticed something wrong with the industrial blast furnace

I just noticed that the maximum attainable heat value is 2880K (it used to be higher than this), by making it out of advanced machine casings and filling it with lava. However, it requires 3000K to make tungstensteel ingots. Whats up with that?

You need to make the more advanced heating coils, and right click the furnace with them. It takes four heating coils to upgrade the furnace, and if you add four of each of the two types, the heat capacity will go up by 1000 total.

yeah the Lava blocks always gave you a boost to heat. Good to know that did not change.

The recommended ultimate pack (1.0.1) is still using the older version that doesn't require at least one upgrade of heating coils to reach 3k. Ultimate 1.1 (haven't tried 1.0.2) can be all advanced casings and will still fall short of 3k.

By using coils, you only need 4 or so advanced casings. I dropped to only 8 and am still over 3300. IT actually saves chrome. Make sure you have 4 in your hand when you click on the furnace or it won't work. Also, only 2 of the 3 available coils can be applied.

i (Think) i have all the machines that take them, Most of them dont even use advanced cases, Or wont accept em'

The only other multiblock machine that takes advanced casings is a distillation tower, which is really useful but a bitch to automate. Alternatively, you could use them to make a fusion reactor

After some testing, you can get 3200 degrees without using any advanced machine casings in Ultimate 1.1.0. Use 2 lava source blocks and all reinforced casings. You also use the Kanthal and Nichrome heating coils. You have to apply the Kanthal 1st or the Nichrome coils won't apply to the machine when you click on it. It also takes 4 of each coil so you must have at least that many in your hand.
