Introduction:

Demonic Reclamation is me and my teams entry for Jampacked 2 and is driven by Hardcore Questing Mode. In Demonic Reclamation, players will find themselves in the Nether, driven from your homes by demons. You are then visited by a god, and given the task to reclaim your homes, and defeat the Demons.


Demonic Reclamation is a magic based pack, with a splash of tech (AE2) and will be slightly configured with new/different recipes and more. It will be designed to be quite hard, and have a heavy emphasis on multiplayer, and shall be designed with 3 players in mind. (Team one time quest rewards will be turned on)

I will be using quests to implement a sort of MMO-Style class system. Here is a basic idea of the classes that will be available:
Archon- Healing and Buffing friends. Trapping and Debuffing Mobs.
Berzerker- Basically the tank. Does physical damage.
Ranger- A scout character. Focuses on speed and agility.
Vanguard- Front line unit. Does physical damage
Templar- Front line unit. Does physical and magic damage
Necromancer- Makes minions and summons thralls
Animist- Mages who deal with nature.
Bloodborn- Mages that dabble into blood magic.
Alchemist- Peaceful mages who practise alchemy

Vision:
I rather liked playing through Agrarian Skies, but it felt too much like a kitchen sink pack to me. Ever since playing that, I had an idea to make something similar, but solely focused on magic, and this is the result. I also liked the harder aspects of Crashed Landing, and wanted to implement something similar to that in a modpack.

I will stream development once there is something to show. Most likely during the Beta Stage of the pack.

This pack has been made as part of Jampacked 2 and I would really like peoples input on what they think of the pack, however, as stated above, I am not ready to make the key publicly available.

To do List:
Decide on the mods. I have a rough idea of what I want in the pack, but am open to suggestions.
Create a sense/plan for the balance for the pack.
Get the pack loading and working.
Get art done.
Come up with a plan for getting food in the nether.
Implement Balance.
Create Quests.
Build the Map

FAQ
Q: HELP!!!!!! I can’t craft X with the default recipe
A: It has most likely changed, please consult NEI for changed recipes.

Q: Can you add mod X, I can’t play minecraft without it?
A: Most likely not, I am very happy with the current mod loadout, but if you think that it would really fit the theme, PM me and explain why it should be in the pack.

Q: Why can’t me and my friends all claim the same rewards like we could in modpack X
A: I have balanced the quest rewards around playing the game with 3 players, and this is achieved better with Multi Reward turned to false. If you really want Multi Reward to be true, I can’t stop you, but you will probably enjoy your time more if you have it off.

Q: I found a bug/exploit, what should I do with it?
A:Read the Bug Reports and Suggestions section of this thread. Do not, on any account, take a bug report straight to a mod developer, I probably am doing something wrong.

Q: How do I do X?
A: Most of the time, this is explained in the book. If I get a lot of questions about one topic, I will post how to do that, but I like the idea of the player discovering how to do things.

Q: Where is the map?/I died and lost all my lives, how do I get a new map?
A: Just create a new world, and the map will load. Alternatively, I will have a download link for people who want that.


Q: Help, the modpack is running smoothly, what am I doing wrong? Halp pls

There is a file error in the current version to do with CustomStuff content packs. They have somehow duplicated when I submitted the pack and your game won't launch. To fix, delete the folders drOres, drItems and drBlocks from your mods folder.

If anyone has experianced this issue please tell me, I can probably figure it out on my own, but any help is appreciated.

As well as this, I derped with the OreGen Anything config file. Will submit an update later today to fix everything. Stick with v0.0.1 if you are playing

I might add the Metallurgy fantasy metals as nether ores, but I'm not 100% sure on that yet. You might have to travel to the overworld to get them.

In the alpha to-do list you want to find a way of getting food in the nether: zombie flesh from zombie pigmen on drying racks to create zombie jerkey.
Also, mushrooms spawn in the nether if you want to make mushroom stew, you do need the bowl but I think wood is going to be given on early stages because it is needed for every aspect of the game.

Thanks for this, I forgot about mushrooms and stuff. I was more thinking of some kind of crop that grows in the nether.

Having compatibility issues with Quadrum and Custom NPC's. Switching to CustomStuff 3.

Also, I plan to move into Open Beta before Easter weekend, so stay tuned. This will only include a map, and as many quests as I can get done before then

Even if you just get the basic quest lines done I am sure lot of peeps will help fill in the lore as long as you give us some guidelines.

Just a bit of update news, I am going to try go for some kind of MMO Style class system using the quests. If anyone knows of a way that I can implement player specific and group specific quests in HQM, or if there are any other quest mods out there, please reply with a link.

You could have melee wespons, ranged weapons, and staffs that are required for attacks and damage, but are not craftable, but rather given by quests that will lock the other two choices.early weapons may require materials to turn in. Mid and late game weapons may require materials and deeds.
