that bug got fixed.
The manually operated grind stone, can now only be manually operated.

(small child and cookies method is still best, do not give cookie if the crank breaks into sticks)

Get somebody else to do it for you. Ta-da, automated!

There's an old thread with almost the same title.

Still, the fix is news. Is the fix that the crank breaks? Or simply something else?

And is it also fixed against the Thaumic Tinker's stuff?

I understand that the crank was given a smaller hitbox and that the turtle just hits air now. If that's the case, then the thaumic tinker thingy probably doesn't work either.

Is that it then? That's good.

I have a stapler on my mouse to automate this, and I didn't want to lose that ability.

Well, if what Zavvias says is true (haven't tested it, waiting for the a custom modpack to be approved) you'll eventually snap the handle on the grindstone when it runs out of grindables, but meh. It's just sticks.

Well, automating placing cranks back into the thing isn'a a big deal.

Meh, it's easier to make a pulverizer anyway. Much less stress.

Aye, I don't even bother with the grindstone these days; pulverizer and a basic engine are very accessible.

Edit: When I come to think of it, I'm lying a bit. Grindstone is really great for turning gravel to flint.

Yeah, but you still need two computers if you want to play, and it's stressful to set up as well.

Oh... i see
I'm so used to leave my computer with minecraft on over night while i sleep, then i can do that kind of thing...

Attach crescent hammer to turtle, place facing handle.

label set GrindBot
edit startup

Code:
while true do
turtle.attack()
sleep(0.05)
end

save
exit
startup

GrindBot grinds just fine in the current version. This is useful for getting coal dust ASAP if you want to rush for a nanosuit. It also looks steampunk as fuck.
