Is it me or is oil spawning getting a little.. much

That is a new Ocean Oil Field biome from Buildcraft. There is a desert variant too and both are rare. You got lucky and found one but don't expect it to be like this everywhere.
 
And honestly, that's considerably smaller than most other oil field biomes people have posted here.

Still more than enough oil to Propell you right though mid-game.
 
There's also notes in the recent BC updates that oil spawns were reduced in certain biomes (not oil fields reduced).
 
I actually want to find one of these, the server I play on has a limit of over 5000 blocks in each direction from the spawn, so there is bound to be one. What's the rarity of these anyway? 1 out of 10 000?

Oh no, I've tried searching for this before and come up with a million things not related to this. It's easy to find what the hell that is by using a simple google search. I hate the FTB search, everything is too short, too long, I always end up googling.
