The Endermen must think you're Direwolf and are trying to get revenge on him. I haven't had any problems with Endermen moving blocks.

/gamerule mobGrief false

turns off creeper explosions, turns off endermen theft, turns off wither explosions, turns off ghast explosions.

....I never knew this existed!
So I just type this in game or do I have to change a file or something?

I would really not mind playing in higher difficulties as much with this, hope some of you excuse me if I'm not "pro" enough to completely creper-proof my base, be on guards 24/7 and not make any mistakes ever.

Plus I just don't like how Withers/ Crepers destroy the landscape, even if not near my base, having to re-fill up the mini craters they leave is a bit of a pain.

As long as you created the world with cheats enabled, just type it in chat.

What's funny is I actually have a hard time finding endermen XD They just don't spawn near my shit for some reason. Plenty of zombies to bang on my door, though...

Those mini craters are a sure mark of a new settlement nearby. :D

Light up your roof/use materials mobs cant spawn on

Yep done both. They can however walk across land and even climb stairs you know. Which they did. Sure I can light up the entire world and build only where monsters can't get to but that isn't very realistic when starting out is it?

Generally I leave the blasts on in SSP- if a creeper gets in your house and blows himself its your fault for not building it properly in the first place.
I usually get several creepers in my starting cave- next to my first machines/engines- just walk outside and they follow you.
(don't think I've ever been caught out in my main room before)
SMP is a whole different story- usually because there's some idiot trying to kill creepers a stone sword. (Yeah thats annoying- come back out and find your apiaries reduced to a smoking crater and said idiot still alive. Shame PvP was off)
I completely agree with that. I can be careful with creepers around my machinery, but I can't trust everyone else on the server to be. It's just a shame that it disables Withers too, as fighting one becomes trivial when you can just trap it in a glass cage. I wish Withers were not affected by the rule, or at least configurable separately. (Anyone knows of a mod that allows this?)

Enderman-related story: I saw one pick up a dirt block in front of my eyes. That block had a lever on it. That lever turned off my entire sorting/processing system.

Personally, turning off creeper explosions is cheating more than turning GregTech to "easy mode".

Don't like creepers? Build fences and torches.

Had a creeper just wander into my makeshift storage room topside today... 6 barrels full of cobble, 6 double chests full of well. most everything from ores to saplings/mobdrops and machineparts really... Damn that was anoying to clean up...
Not so much the hole in the floor tho... but the 4k+ entities littering my house.... o_O
man that lagged hard for a while... Good thing they did that entity merge thingy that makes it so that a single entity can contain a whole stack of items... otherwise i think my world would have died.

I play the DW20 pack :)
Yeah, I was mostly saying you should design for creepers.

Personally, my base consists of glass domes, with creeper-proof construction foam floors (works great for embedding glass fiber cable and having "clean" wiring). And the 1st three layers of my domes are ThermalExpansion hardened glass (Nuke proof). Gives a use for the large amount of lead I get (or waste it on factorization batteries or transmute with TC3).

Further, my glass domes are lit by Wrath Lamps. And the entire area is chunk loaded. I've _never_ had any problems with creepers spawning inside my dome. Every once in a while they spawn outside (in spite of my attempt to cover the area with torches).

But I have 0 fear of my base or stuff being blown up. Craters, yes, they are a nuisance. I usually end up filling them in.

But yeah, there are tons of ways to defend against creepers with the mods in FTB, both passive (using blast resistant stone / marble brick / xycraft) and active (portal turrets, MFFS, aerial faith plates, etc). I think people severely limit the creativeness by turning their destruction off.

my creativity is more geared towards automation and cool looking builds... the only reason I have mobs on at all is because I want the drops. I care very little about changing my design ethos just because a mob is likely to destroy everything I've made. So screw that, I'll just turn them off.
