I use Notepad ++ on my computer, so it does have a search function.

As does vim

I have my own private wiki containing information of basically everything with info I copied from tons of different wikis. It is only for my private use though.

I keep my own personal "cliff notes" of mods. For instance, having the table of numbers for figuring out Rotarycraft power totals is handy to have. Easier than pulling out the calculator everytime. I also have schematics of Mekanism's ore processing up to 5x so I can build the right number of machines and plan out the build. Like you said, it is definitely easier than going to my browser every 5 minutes.

It's neither bad nor good, a person must take the measures necessary to organize their mind.
I personally remember my tips and tricks in a more natural manner. But if the tip involves a specific set of numbers and data I write it down.

one of most important text documents in my pc.

Most of my notes were for coordinates of places that were important.

And then I played Direwolf modpack and discovered Opis/Mapwriter and I haven't had to keep notes since. I hope FTB modpacks always include good mapping/waypoint mods, because I don't miss having little notes everywhere at all.

Same here. I do appreciate the in-game clipboard as well. It lets me keep a list of things I want to do and ideas about how to do them. Most of the time, that list is longer than I can keep intact in my brain for extended periods of time, and I'd hate to forget an interesting idea just because there's so much other stuff to do.
