Sounds like a stupid question but here goes..

I've setup a quarry that turns on when I send it a Wireless redstone signal - I've got this linked into ComputerCraft so
I know that I've got it switched on, but to keep the engines from overheating I've only got them running on internal fuel with a river providing the cooling water..

When these engines run out of fuel, obviously they stop supplying power to the quarry - how do I feed that back to my controller to say that the quarry for some reason is stopped? - (so I can turn of the power to my sorting machines as well)

I was thinking about trying to detect if the Golden conductive pipe has power flowing or is supplying power.
But I'm not sure how to do that.

Yep, gates are the sensors of Buildcraft. While you're there, look into Autarchic gates - they also function as Redstone Engines, so you can also control when you pull items.
A word of warning, though: as you'd expect for a perfect automation item, to make these guys, you'll need diamonds to set up shop with an Assembly Table and at least one Laser. Crafting speed is quite slow, but can be sped up with more Lasers. (Put one near the other - think books and Enchanting Tables, although I think the range is a little longer than that.)

Although by reading the wiki alone, I can't see if you can actually connect these guys to a REther wireless transmitter - hmm...

Ah sweet - I've been trying to follow Dire's videos on and I saw the table and lasers they setup in his server play series.
Thanks for the info!
