Today I discovered a rather sweet little exploit to farm Silk Touch I and Fortune III books. All you have to do is make a MFR disenchanter, and throw an Iridium drill in it. Since the Iridium drill is automatically enchanted once you craft it, the disenchanter will disenchant it of both Fortune and Silk Touch. At this point the drill will loose its shiny enchanted color, but all you have to do to 'regenerate' the enchantments, is take out the drill and right click + M, to toggle inbetween Silk Touch and Fortune modes. The enchantments will come back, and you can go for another round. I've only tested this on Tech World 2, but haven't seen any posts about it so I doubt it has been fixed in other modpacks.

Not necessarily, but they can come in handy. For example to enchant Steve's Carts, you need a constant supply of books because they consume them. Maybe you play on a server where you can sell them cheap to other players.

Cool a lot of other mods have this exploit when a tool comes with an enchant. (which I kinda think is stupid)

PS. with this exploit to work on other things the tool has to be powered.

What's really gonna bake your Noodle is that there are several ways to get infinite good enchants. From repairing enchanted plates from Bibliocraft, to using the Osmotic Enchanter & stripping via the same mfr disenchanter. That's not even mentioning Immibis's LXP mod and getting good enchants. It's all pretty easy.

It's also pretty widely agreed that vanilla enchanting sucks so any "exploit" is actually doing you a favor.
