Interacting with Minecart Chests

Apart from hoppers, and with the absence of Railcraft loaders/unloaders, what other ways are there to interact fast with a minecart chest?

Edit: Also, any way to read the content level of a minecraft + chest the same was as a normal chest?

AE IO-hoppers. thaum golems. May be tubes ad pipes.

Transport mod has loaders, they just A) Don't have Recipes, and B) Hate being fed with hoppers. They will pull from adjacent inventories though. It also has tracks to hold the minecarts.

Transfer nodes from Extra Utils is great too.

Detector rail with a block beside it and a comparator on top shoudl read the level of content in the minecart chest. Using signal strength back you should be able to use a redstone torch to invert the signal and activate the detector rail and a powered rail to launch the cart back to pick up more stuff.

Put a hopper under the detector rail to unload and at the other end reverse this to load and launch on full load.
