Infusion Altar in Ultimate?

I'm trying to make Arcane Levitator in my new ultimate server. I spent a lot of time figuring out this mod for the first time, and then I got to the point where I needed to make a Infusion Altar. However this isn't in Ultimate for whatever reason, and according to the wiki that's normal. The actual Arcane Levitator is in, but there's no way to get it other than cheating? The guide i'm using basically says it's required for me to progress any further. Why is it not in Ultimate? Is there an alternative?

It should be in Ultimate. Isn't it 4 Warded Stone in a square and right-click with a wand?

It's not in NEI, and according to the Arcane Levitator wiki page it doesn't exist in "newer versions" of ultimate. I'm running 1.0.2.

I'm not very familiar with this mod, but not having an Infusion Altar basically makes 90% of the mod worthless, doesn't it? I'm so confused.

You should have in your thaumanomicon the magical Building Blocks.
When you Place Four of them in a 2x2 Pattern and rightclick it with the Wand you got a Infusion Altar.

Here's my suggestion to you:

Step 1: Craft an Apprentice Wand. The recipe should be in NEI. If not, it's a gold nugget, a stick, and any of the thaumcraft shards in an angular pattern.

Step 2: Whack a bookshelf with it. A book will appear.

Step 3: Read the information in said book, and unlock your research.

Most Thaumcraft recipes aren't in NEI, but are easily found in the Thaumonomicon.
