I've not played much with Minefactory Reloaded until recently. I've been checking out the machines like the chronotyper, which allows you to split baby animals away from the herd, then when they grow up, you can pull the now adults into a chamber with a grinder and convert them into products plus monster essence.
Monster essence is useful for both the auto-spawner and the auto-enchanter. To use the auto-spawner, catch a mob in a safari net, and place the net in the auto-spawner, supply monster essence and power, and watch your mobs spawn. It takes many kills to make enough monster essence to spawn a mob, so you normally have to kill quite a few cows, pigs, and chickens before you have enough to spawn mobs from the safari net.
An auto-spawner with a full supply of essence will spawn about a dozen (actually, I'm making this up, but it's not a lot) mobs, give the drops, and generates a bit of essence from the kills, and then is done. So you have to keep adding mobs for the grinder to kill to get more monster essence. What happens though if you use a mob then generates more of itself when killed? What about magma slimes or slimes? I believe there are 4 or 5 different sizes of slimes that can be spawned. Each time a slime is killed, it "splits" into several (1-4) of the next smaller size. If you spawn one of the largest slimes, one spawn can turn into as many as 64 more.
I found this out the hard way as I put a magma slime in the auto-spawner (I wanted a handful of magma creams.), and ended up with a never ending tide of magma slimes. By the time I figured out the spawns weren't going to stop on their own, and made it around to the maintenance tunnels below to remove the safari net from under the machine, I had 6 stacks of magma creams. (I was killing the slimes with my sword along with the grinder killing them as well.)
So, how to turn this information into a endless supply of mobs of your choice? Simple. Have a grinder send monster essence into the bottom of a small xycraft tank. (I'm using a 3x3x5--3 air spaces) have a valve block on the lowest level feeding the auto-spawner (with slimes). On a higher level have a tube that feeds monster essence to another auto-spawner. This way the auto-spawner creating the slimes always has enough monster essence to maintain it spawning mobs to grind. Extra essence will flow through the next level valve once enough is stock-piled in the tank. Feed this essence into another auto-spawner with the mob (in safari net) of your choice. Depending on how much monster essence is created, you may have enough left over to feed an additional spawner or an auto-enchanting machine.
The only question now is what do you do with stacks and stacks of magma cream and slimeballs?
*edit - make sure to update MFR to 2.3 as the 2.2 version with Ultimate 1.0.1 is bugged and the auto-spawner doesn't work right.
