After doing some math, I found out that 1 64k storage cell can hold 520,192 items if you were to partition it to hold 1 item, if you were to fill up a storage drive with 10x64k storage cells it would hold 5,201,902 items of 1 kind, if you were to make it look like a server with three stacked on top of eachother it would be able to hold 15,605,760 items of 1 kind... Just imagine having that much TNT, or sugarcane... This also brings me to my next point, what's the crazyest amount of items you have ever stored at once, I have a plan brewing, and it's looking expensive right now!

How do you determine how many bytes a item takes up? Try these calculations with 16m cells. Multiply that by 2000000000 if you filled those with dsus. Now assume you filled those dsus with octuple cobble.

=alot of cobble.

A little thing called research, that's how I found out what I did, and anyway, I like the idea of a server looking storage area, I'm just writing down figures and then at the begining of next week I'm going to get started on my base, got any smart ideas on iron collection?

I don't like rotary craft, you need loads of iron to start... Got any other ideas?

There's nothing else that can give 5+ ingots per ore. The closest you can get is the 3x processing with an induction furnace.

mfr deep storage units i believe have a 2 billion limit. try a few of those. dont forget extra utilities introduced compressed cobble, dirt, gravel and sand. 8x compressed cobble...i dare you to fill 1 storage cell with compressed cobble ;)

and magic crops have an iron crop. grow it all day long. use lilypads of fertility, blood magic and lamps of growth to make it grow ermahgerd fast.

or use same accelerators on a patch of iron oreberry bushes. same thing

something I've been toying with: Filling a billion DSUS with octuple compressed cobblestone, then storing them in a dsu. Then store a billion of those dsus (filled with dsus) in more dsus. Repeat 1 billion (a dsu can store one billion items, so it seemed like a tidy number). So. Much. Cobble.

i reckon that would get you an "unexpected end of stream" if you ever picked that up

And not hard to get to hyperspeed. Get a magnetostatic engine. Put it at 1024 Rad/s. Attach it to a 4x gearbox set for speed mode. Attach grinder to that. Profit!

Yes, a Grinder is a good early way to get 3x ingots with RotaryCraft. Pretty easy to set up. The Extractor (for 5x ingots) is somewhat harder but should be the next thing to focus on once you have sufficient power and can either:

a) produce sufficient RF and use a good magnetostatic to convert that to RotaryCraft

or

b) make a CVT (requires you can mine bedrock which can be done relatively easily with 4 hydrokentic engines) then you can do it easily with 4 steam engines.

or

c) use a few gasoline engines
