Are you sure you did everything exactly? Do you see any errors listed in Eclipse? Warnings are OK.
Did you specifically do the part about setting up the buildpath for the natives of lwjgl and lwjgl_util?

I'm rapidly approaching 30s myself and I know exactly where Hydra is coming from. For the record I picked up programming at the early age of 12. One of the things you're going to have to learn is how to research a problem. If you don't even know how to use basic search tools, go learn them now. The majority of the time you spend as a programmer is not creating new code but debugging old code.
Just so I can be helpful, if you're going to learn how to use java (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FOR MODDING), when i have asked about it, I have been referred to thenewboston, apparently quite a few people swear by his tutorials. I too wish to start modding, but I've been busy with University.
