Here's the big deal.. I'm looking for a good alternate World Gen mod for my survival with a friend. His computer is kinda crappy so I'm looking for a mod that won't add a ton of lag like Biomes O Plenty. I've looked at ExtraBiomesXL and Alternate Terrain Generation and they're okay. Any other ideas?

If your friend actually has a "crappy" computer, then the OS is likely 32bits and/or he has a mere 2GB of RAM.
In either case you should avoid ALL biome mods as even the lightest ones will cause opengl errors and lag & disconnects.
ATG - by itself - adds some technical biomes but I don't belive they are visually distinct so they should not increase the opengl pressure appreciably. Just don't pair it with mariculture. It might take a bit longer to generate chunks than vanilla, but if you run the server on the more powerful PC your friend will be insulated from that.
