Ice farming with SFM

I'm trying to farm ice with SFM to use with the Acclimatiser. I have a 1x1 water pool with a 1x1 pool of cryotheum 1 block away so it freezes the water. I have a Block Gate facing into the pool set to detect Ice and to collect it then replace it with water from an attached tank. Its not working and I don't know why. Any suggestions/good SFM tutorials?

Does the block gate use silk touch? If not then it will only turn the ice into water when breaking it.

well breaking ice without silk touch gets you nothing

Can you silk touch with sfm?
