ICBM not in Ultimate pack ?

Is there a reason the FTB Devs didn't add ICBM (by calcavia) in the ultimate pack? Also , is the pack unstable in any way?

ICBM is part of UE and will not be part of ultimate as it would be too redundant. As for ultimate being unstable, from my own playing with it the pack appears just as stable as any other pack.

:( Ultimate is the best pack and it's a shame really that ICBM wont be a part of it.

There are worse mods to be left out though, after all ICBM isn't necessary, more something to throw your resources at late-game.
I'm pretty sure you could add it manually if you want though.

Personally I vow to get the full UE suite up and running in my "sorta like FTB Ultimate" MultiMC setup, and I hope I was wrong when I found Atomic Science's Cells had the same recipe as IC2 cells and his changelog said something about removing IC2 cell crafting compatibility. If this is the case, I'll have to add another mod just to bypass the issue.

Hah! I disable IC2 and all its related mods everytime x) Its realy not a must have mod at all <3 And to put it in your own words: IC2 is necessary. So its not needed ;)

I apologize, but from this point you can prove mathematically that Gerald Robotnik did not, in fact, design any contraptions aboard the ARK, but rather his grandson acquired a time machine to go to his great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great grandfather to give him the plans, who then passed them down until Gerald was born. And also, possibly, the existence of the Babelfish, which then allows you to prove God's nonexistence. And then prove the existence of God, which is clearly nonsense, as you just proved His/Her/Its nonexistence, depending on which religion you subscribe to.

I have a "swap IC2 for UE" version of the Ultimate pack. This of course means you lose Gregtech, but you get a ton of other stuff. It's very good. My opinion is that IC2 feels positively dowdy in compared to UE. Some of its game mechanics are slightly better (the nuclear minigame springs to mind) but overall it's a much more limited modset.

People have asked me about it, but every time I say, "There is no IC2 and no RedPower2, I've replaced them with alternatives" they flip out ad cry about how Minecraft isn't Minecraft without those things. Their loss, in my opinion.

I can understand getting rid of IC2, but why did you get rid of Redpower? (Just wondering!)

I have very little hope Redpower2 will ever be upgraded to 1.5. And even if it does, the point of this pack is to explore other options, and more balanced options at that! Redpower2 stuff is notoriously overpowered because of the mechanics of blutricity.

The only thing from RP2 I cannot easily replace is frames; and I do miss those. But that just means we get to experiment with new alternative mining solutions! I have people on our hybrid-ultimate server who are asking for the ability to make builds with 0 redpower2 even though RP2 is available there. I'm installing all of Immibis's work there today. That pack has been in stasis for months and we demand novelty. :)

The main reason I was confused that you'd want to get rid of it was because I love frames :p But I can see your point. Thanks for answering!

Imo, it's Minecraft as soon as you're punching wood. FTB is a different ballgame entirely. To me, Minecraft is about making a little mom & pop craft shop, FTB is about creating a one man industrial revolution. Just my 2c for those people.
