So I found out about these things, and decided to try them out. It appears though that efficiency upgrades won't go into my IC2 machines. I've tried shift clicking, putting into the 4 upgrade slots, etc. and it still woukdn't go in. I can't find anything about the efficiency upgrades and how to I guess, use them?

I was wondering if anybody knows the problem here. Basically I just can't put my efficiency upgrade in my machines.

To speed up your machines or to store more power use overclockers and power storage upgrades respectively. Efficiency is made for chragepads, not ic2 machines

Yes they are only used in the charge pads. They work to kinda offbalance the increased power drain from putting stacks of overclockers in the charge pads. The efficiency upgrades gives a slight boost to charge speed but they lower the power usage. I usually end up with 2 charge pads(next to each other so I can stand on both at the same time, microblocks to guide me to stand just right), and then 16 overclockers and 5 efficiency upgrades in each charge pad. Charges up full quantum/gravi/advanced nano in no time :p

Only two? You crazy, son. Mind you, I had four and didn't use microblocks(like a moron, I never thought of that, so thank you), so charging my suit was pretty easy. Getting back to the charger when I needed my stuff charged wasn't always easy.
Hence why I stopped using Charge Pads, honestly. For in the field recharging(like I had to do), I had to use a different mod. But, eh, I'm not using IC2 right now, so I'm fine without.

Hehe. Yeah in unleashed I only really used my chargepads to recharge boots, helmet and legs. I had 2 Advanced nano chest plates(nano chestplate+advanced jetpack), and the ME network set up to automatically recharge them and return them to my tool enderpouch. So could always just keep going when out on the move :p And then whenever I got back home the rest of my gear had usually taken 20-30% "damage" and for that I used the chargepads.

An ME Network for charging your suit?! I just used This addon. Same sort of idea, just easier(and a second ender pouch gets it back while in the field).

Yeah already had the ME network handling all the stuff at the base(including extracting from one enderpouch and restocking the tool enderpouch(canned food for one :p)), so just used the fuzzy bus mechanics to tell the difference between if the armour is fully charge or not and stick it into an MFSU or enderchest accordingly.

I didn't use a Q-Suit, so the canned food wasn't even a thing. I had enough "Meat" Ingots to feed an army, and a set of Modular Power Armor with an auto-feeder. If my power on something was low, I'd shove it in a "Charging Input", it would charge it, and I'd get it out of a "Charging Output". Seriously easy. One Ender Chest Network for things needing Power, one for things that have been Just Charged, two pouches colored slightly differently, and one machine in a loaded Chunk with a "bit"* of Power Generation. You need two pouches for getting things out when they are charged while you're away, since if you only use one, it then just cycles it through the system my way. Actually using a ME Network would be good for Fuzzy Detection allowing you to check power levels, thus allowing you to use only one pouch, but it is offset by being an ME Network(and thus crazy pricy). It's not that much more expensive to add a few extra bits to a ME Network you already have, but I designed this system ages ago. Like, so long ago, I had to steal it off of Direwolf20 before he was important.

*AKA a Thorium based GT Reactor crapping out enough power to run a LV anything perfectly(at 32 eu/t), scaled up as needed(aka add more of those reactors).
